Shipping took a bit longer than expected but still happy

I got expedited shipping but it took too long to get here. The benefit was they had these in stock when no one else did.

Background music/communication while still hearing what's around me.

I love this helmet. I have yet to use the communication feature but definitely enjoy my music in the background. And I mean background. I hear all the sounds from cars, animals, bike noises, and fellow trail users, but I also get to enjoy the soft music from the small speakers in the helmet. I never used earbuds because of the safety issues. I never used a generic bluetooth speaker because it can be disruptive to others around me. This is a perfect balance. I have the volume set so I hear it but others cant unless they stand less then a foot away from me. My only gripe is the quality of the speakers. Roughly the same as the speaker in my cellphone. I would be willing to pay a bit more for a higher sound quality. Something with a touch of base would be nice. But overall I love the helmet. It looks good and adds a bit more enjoyment to every ride.

It's Trick - But Not Ready for Prime Time

There are two parts to the this item: the helmet and the app.

The app from Sena is incomplete. It does nothing and offers no services, functions or capabilities. The features that you would want from the app, such as the intercom capability, radio stations, etc. doesn't exist. This item has none of the features they have available in their motorcycle line and you would expect with their experience this functionality would be easily ported.

As far as the helmet goes, it's light and comfortable to wear. The fit is snug and it feels secure. With regards to the functionality: the controls are awkward. Sena is trying to control too many features with three buttons. Frankly, it's too much to remember and accomplish while riding. The sound quality is poor. The speakers are very tinny and mostly highs. I expected better quality and a fuller range. I get far superior sound quality from my Bluetooth ear buds. Overall, you should wait for a couple more generations of app and product development to occur before considering this helmet.
