Rafal B. lightweight and breathable. Enough protection to save your knees from the cheese grater (already tested...), feel sturdy enough to save your knees and shins on in case you eat dirt or gravel. I wouldn't take them DH or expect to save you from a direct rock hit to the knee, but I don't think they were designed for it.
