The gloves have strong padding underneath which helps reduce wear and tear on skin for tougher mountain bike rides. I have purchased these gloves in previous year models and feel like they always run a little tight so my preference has been to size up. Only thing I don't love is the material on the glove that allows them to handle touch screens without taking the gloves off. Overall I like the durable feeling of the glove, just be mindful it fits snug. Best to air dry after washing.
