With storage capacity comparable to small backpack-style options, Hot Laps 5L is a capable hip pack, complete with two-liter Hydrapak® 3D lumbar reservoir and additional space to stow a gamut of gear on your rides. Its redesign now provides a fleece-lined pocket on the padded hip belt to conveniently stow a phone or sunglasses. Side compression straps keeps the load close as the water reservoir is emptied, and a breathable AirFlow back panel does away with hotspots and minimizes sweat.

Bought one for my wife, tried it myself and loved it, now I have one. Holds enough H2O and supplies for riding here in the desert southwest. Wish it came with the hydrapak plugnplay on the bladder, a minor inconvenience to have to buy it separetly.
Best price I've seen for this bag and it's a nice upgrade from my OG Hot Laps. Based on the product description from Dakine's site, it looks like the bag I got is missing the fleece-lined glasses pouch and reservoir with quick-connect sip-tube. Not a huge deal, the price was great and shipping was fast.
Love this hip pack - it doesn't move around when I'm riding, carries enough water for anything but long rides in triple digit heat & the pack size is great for tool kit, phone, snacks. Only thing is that the pocket on the waist strap is not quite large enough for my phone - so it goes in the main pocket & it's more cumbersome to access.
When using for XC skiing (classic) my arm often dislodges the reservoir hose from its lock. I'll need to add some fabric to cover it - which would also be good to keep dust off when riding
Great construction, quality product. Wish they would have added a second side pocket. Don’t like to have to pull the strap to tighten the pack after drinking from the bladder, otherwise the pack starts to flop around. All in all, I’m pretty happy with the Hot Laps 5L hip pack.
